Alex is the protagonist of the 1971 Stanley Kubrick film, A Clockwork Orange, adapted from Anthony Burgess's novel of the same name.
Portrayed by Malcolm McDowell, Alex is a charismatic yet disturbingly violent teenager in a dystopian future England. He leads a gang of "droogs" in acts of "ultraviolence," including robbery, assault, and rape.
